Charlottesville Downtown Mall (The RAP version)

I have to say that I did not know there was so much talent in Charlottesville. These two are really good and have spent a great deal of time and research to put this Rap song together about the Charlottesville Downtown Mall.

I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did and share it with others.

I have to say thank you to these two for their efforts, it is really something!

SIGN, SIGN everywhere a SIGN!!!

SIGN, SIGN everywhere a SIGN!!!

SIGN, SIGN everywhere a SIGN!!! Blocking out the scenery, blowing my mind….. (I think those are the words).   ImageChef.com - Custom comment codes for MySpace, Hi5, Friendster and more

We have Real Estate Signs, Open House Sign

and Election Signs….

This is a lot of Signs for a small town like Charlottesville Virginia. At this time of year more signs are popping up.

These are :

Painting Service Signs

Garage Sale Signs

and the latest are Closet Installation Signs…..

So services are now putting these on our roadways!

This is too many signs in our area! (in my opinion).   What are your thoughts?

Charlottesville Ice Park - Winter in August!!!

Charlottesville Ice Park

My daughter just did skate camp at the Charlottesville Ice Park.

She did so well and it was really fun to go and watch.

You know the last time I was on the Ice is the Last time I will be on the Ice.

My backside hurts just thinking about it :)

It is great that on a day that hits 90 degrees, we can go into a place that is actually cold.

Oh yes, the kids had a great time too!

Located on Charlottesville's historic Downtown Mall, the Ice Park is open year-round.  In addition to numerous public skating sessions each week, the Ice Park offers skating and hockey classes and lessons all year.

you have got to see this...

Many times I hear from people who think that a town of 50,000 is to small. Well they just do not get it. It is a great size, in fact many people do not want Charlottesville to get any bigger... I tend to agree.

Sure Charlottesville is a small town but do we have some talent!

Here are a couple of young boys juggling on the down town mall, located in Jefferson's Virginia!

Historic Court Square - Charlottesville Virgina

Court Square Charlottesville In the late 1800’s (well over a century ago) when you drove around Charlottesville you went by horse and buggy.

The City of Charlottesville decided to install four watering fountains in our downtown area.

These fountains for not just for horse but also for the citizens of Charlottesville and other domestic animals.

The water was fed through these four “fish-like features” to an upper bowl that overflowed and filled the lower trough for animals.

This city water system flowed for many years and a similar one was in front of our courthouse on Jefferson St.

Charlottesville Court HouseIn the year 1926 the Monticello Hotel was built and the fountain was removed.

Fast forward to 2004 and the Charlottesville Volunteer Fire Company and the City of Charlottesville have now restored one of the original four fountains.

A walk through the brick lined street of our town square is like a walk back in time. I hope you enjoy some of the photos I have taken.

Come visit Charlottesville and see our Historic Court Square.

Save the Fireworks!

Is it worth $40,000 to have 4th of July fireworks at McIntire Park?

Well that is the cost and according to our local paper, The Daily Progress:

Organizers decided to drop the festival after seeing the recession’s toll on the area, saying they did want to compete for funds with nonprofit groups that provide “basic human services.”

Well the "Charlottesville’s Save the Fireworks Committee" a band of local businesses that has for seven years planned and funded the city’s annual Independence Day celebration, is dropping the festival after this year, committee members announced Wednesday.

Most of our local leaders in Charlottesville agree that the fireworks should continue but there is no consensus on how it would be funded...

stay tuned!
