Below is a photo of a sidewalk I took at the University of Virginia. These walkways were designed by Thomas Jefferson and built by his architects. There have been literally millions of feet on these walkways and many famous people.

Jefferson most likely and even people like Edgar Allen Poe (who attended the University)...

The University of Virginia continues its strong showing in the annual rankings of America's Best Colleges published today by U.S. News & World Report magazine.

U.Va. remains tied – this year with the University of California-Los Angeles – for second among all public universities and is tied for 24th among all universities, both public and private.

Both Harvard (tied with Princeton) and the University of California-Berkeley retained their No. 1 rankings as best overall national university and best public university.

The University has ranked either first or second among publics since 1992 and has ranked among the top 25 nationally since the first U.S. News rankings came out in 1988.

The University of Virginia (UVA) Art Museum is a must see!

I just ran into this situation again last week so I thought it was worth another post about this subject!

Do you disclose other offers? This is always a good question.

The answer is that if "Seller Approves" you Disclose.

Standard of Practice 1-15 has been modified for clarification purposes as indicated. 

Standard of Practice 1-15

REALTORS®, in response to inquiries from buyers or cooperating brokers shall, with the sellers' approval, disclose the existence of offers on the property. Where disclosure is authorized, REALTORS® shall also disclose, if asked, whether offers were obtained by the listing licensee, another licensee in the listing firm, or by a cooperating broker. (Adopted 1/03, Amended 1/06 1-08)

So if the seller does not approve what is the response?

Match Day marks the yearly culmination of the residency interview process coordinated by the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). The NMRP was established in 1952 to provide a uniform date of appointment to positions in graduate medical education (GME) in the United States.

If you do not get the "residency program" you want you have a short period to get into another program.

Those of you that are "Matched" will want to consider purchasing a home or resident near The University of Virginia (UVA).

I just read a post on VARBUZZ about the study from UVA (University of Virginia) located here in Charlottesville (did I have to tell you that?)...

regarding the housing crisis and how the concentration is not really widespread and is really key to :

"California, Florida, Nevada, and Arizona (plus "a modest number of metropolitan counties in other states")."

Read the press release: It seems that many areas are not as badly hit and I know ours is one of these areas. This is good news for many home owners....

They say that Real Estate is local and with the current environment that is certainly true.

I just read a blog from Spokane Washington Real Estate Expert, BethAnn Long about their local market. Click Here

My response to her was "Stay positive and stay focused you are above the crowd just by being actively working on your business!"

Then it crossed my mind, something that I had seen recently, a statue here in Charlottesville Virginia  at UVA...

Was it because BethAnn was from Washington State? I am not sure....It was this statue of George Washington!

What I thought about was the environment that our founding fathers lived in and the loss of life to give us the Liberty and Freedoms we all enjoy today.

There is no doubt that Our Times are troubling, but it is so small in comparison...

Thank God for the strength of those who came before us. I only pray we can be as strong for our future generations....

No Joke! Today my wife and I filled the tank and the price even surprised me...

I want everyone to know that "Santa has Gas" !!! LOL!!!

Gas Prices in Charlottesville are way down, I really like this 1.49 a gallon.... I for one am excited!!!

When I am out showing Charlottesville Real Estate I can burn a tank of gas every day or two. This is a nice little Christmas gift for all of us!

Enjoy the road trip and get out there and shop!

So what is the history of UVA? The land was first owned by James Monroe...Read this marker:

So Monroe purchased this farm later Jefferson, Monroe and Madison laid the cornerstone of the University.

There is so much history around Charlottesville that many of our residents do not even realize it.

When I am showing Charlottesville Real Estate I will often stop by the University and do a "quick" tour. It is great to see our local history.

BTW, a walk around the campus can be both beneficial to your mind and body!
